Shopping at consignment stores is a great way to expand your wardrobe on a budget. It is also a way to find unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. I found the featured Judith Leiber bag at 2nd Time Around in Georgetown and I absolutely love it.

About the Art: Gean Carlos Martinez is a visual artist from the Dominican Republic. He immigrated to the US, and his early teens quickly gravitated toward graffiti art. An avid student of style Martinez has participated in dozens of public murals and served as an assistant artist to many of the District’s most well-known muralists. Martinez serves as Sargent at Arms for the Double Down Kings graffiti crew.

My sequin skirt and other amazing sequin skirts (many on sale!):
Dress by Tory Burch; Shoes by Tory Burch (old); Earrings by Mallory Shelter; Purse by Kotur (old); Unicorn Bars by Buttercream Bakeshop
Politiquette Tip: If you want to wear open-toed shoes and no tights during the winter, you should try an air-brush spray to make legs look flawless. My favorite, which comes in multiple shades, can be purchased at your local pharmacy. I use the Sally Hansen air-brush spray. I like this one because it washes away immediately.

This spring/summer there are many designers who have recreated the Mexican style embroidered dress. These garments historically have been designed on white textiles with bright colored threads, but this summer many are completely bold in color. I love the vintage feel to these dresses. The look is perfect for casual events, vacations, and even cocktail parties depending on how you style the dress.
