Inspired by street style, I have recently integrated a denim jacket into my winter wardrobe. To stay seasonally appropriate, I purchased a jacket with shearling/sherpa details. There are many “winter” denim jackets available right now with details like flannel, velvet, leather etc. I have worn this jacket for fancy dinners and to walk the dog. I think its a very versatile piece that can definitely go to the office to give some edge to a more polished look.

One of my priorities with Politiquette is to ensure that I regularly highlight new or less known designers that you will want to be familiar with. It’s exciting how many designers are having success these days thanks to social media and the internet. With so much success, it is definitely a challenge to stay on top of knowing who all of these great designers are. I hope this feature will help you with some of your fashion sifting.
Today I am highlighting five of my favorite designers that I have recently come across. Some of these designers have already been featured on Politiquette and others are designers I plan to feature in the future.
by Marques Almeida
Marques Almeida was founded by Portuguese designers, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, in 2011. The focus of the brand is high-end women’s wear, but they are known for their creative use of denim. Their fall 2015 line includes many denim pieces that are exceptionally unique, including the brocade denim top I am featuring today. I am completely taken with Marques Almeida for their beautiful and original work.
